Let me start this by just saying that I love music. I listen to a lot of it, a lot of the time. Don’t believe me? Check out my last.fm profile.
I recently decided to get into the world of IEMs, after some browsing of the r/headphones wiki/sidebar and some reviews (don’t visit this subreddit if you are a audiophile and have bad impulse control! :P) I settled on the Etymotic Research HF5. I will link to the reviews I read at the end of this post.
I placed an order for them on Amazon on Monday and they arrived yesterday night and I’ve been enjoying them ever since (I’m listening to some music on them as I write this post as a matter of fact). Did I say enjoy? Not quite the right verb for the feeling.
Let me see if I can describe it – sitting down comfortably, put the earphones correctly in my ear (as Etymotic suggests a deep seal is necessary), put on some Blackmill and closed my eyes and just letting the music sweep over me. Just sublime. Seriously, just try it for yourself, you will thank me later.
